Melosh completed her Bachelors Degree in Oral Health at the University of Durban Westville, South Africa in 1991. After graduating, Melosh spent a short time in general private practice in Durban, South Africa and shortly thereafter was offered a position at the School of Dentistry, University of Durban Westville where she lectured for 16 years. She obtained a postgraduate Diploma in Oral Hygiene in 1997 and then went on to obtain a Marketing Diploma from the Durban Institute of Technology in 2002. Back in South Africa, Melosh was elected the President of the South African Oral Hygiene Association from 1995 – 1997 also served on the Health Professions Council of South Africa.
Melosh immigrated to Australia in March 2007. She has been working in periodontics with Dr Adam Rosenberg since 2008. Melosh also demonstrates and lectures to Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy students at University of Melbourne Dental School. Her interests are non-surgical periodontal surgery including perioscopy and supportive periodontal maintenance for implant supportive prosthesis. Melosh graduated with her Masters of Public Health Degree from the University of Queensland in 2012. She is currently studying towards her PhD at the University of Melbourne. The title of her research is “To evaluate the effectiveness of using an endoscope with scaling and root planing as compared to scaling and root planing only using clinical, microbiological and radiographic parameters.” Melosh’s interests are cooking and travel.
