Caring for your Dental Implants

Proper monitoring and maintenance of dental implants is essential to ensure their longevity.

We encourage all patients to return to our practice after completion of the final stages of implant/crown placement to assess the health of the peri-implant tissues.

If you have a single implant, we encourage brushing the implant twice daily with a soft toothbrush and a low abrasive dentifrice. We will show you how to floss around the implant crown to ensure all the plaque is removed.

An implant supported bridge is similar to a regular bridge, but it is supported by implants. If you have an implant supported bridge, we will demonstrate specific flossing techniques and the use of interdental brushes to clean the area between the gum and bridge.

If you have full implant supported prosthesis, we will show you how to care for your implants and prosthesis and recommend specific devices and cleaning aids to assist with your homecare procedures.
